Verticalland (MiniLD #26)

Verticalland is a game made in 72 hours for the MiniLD #26 about climbing the terrain until you reach the top. With your gun, you can shoot bombs whose explosions affect the terrain to allow you to advance.

In two players mode, the players climb (or descend, depending frame of reference) to opposite extremes, and the terrain is affected in the direction of the gravity from the player that made the explosion, so the debris helps the shooter to climb, and detriments the other.

You can also use the guns to shoot down while you are in the air to help you to jump higher (The strong bomb gives you an stronger boost, and its important for reaching high places without a lot of effort)

When a player gets under too much debris it dies, so you have to be careful where you shoot!

The first player is controlled with the arrow keys (or WASD) and the mouse, with the left click to launch the normal bombs, and the right button to launch the strong bombs.

The second player is controlled with a joystick, using the first two axes to move it, and what your controller device driver says that are the first and second buttons, to fire the normal and strong bombs respectively.
